"Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet ... with the harp and lyre ... with tambourine and dancing ... with the strings and flute ... with the clash of cymbals ... with resounding cymbals ..."

The Praise Band is one of the newer musical additions to the Sunday morning service. In its original state, it was known as the "String Band", comprised of several acoustic guitars, a mandolin and an accordian. The band played a few times a year for gatherings such as talent nights and sing-a-longs. Little by little, a few more instruments were added, the repertoire was expanded and the frequency of appearances increased.
Currently, the band plays for the Sunday morning service approximately once every 4 - 6 weeks, as accompaniment to the Praise Team. The band has also been called upon for special occasions such as Rally Day (official start to the "new" year in September), various church picnics, Missions dinners and the like.

The band's members are a wonderfully happy bunch who love God and music. Rehearsals are considered to be "serious fun". As such, the members not only enjoy the practice but also enjoy each other's company immensely. The opportunity to "jam" with each other is always joyfully anticipated.
