What is Awana?

Awana is an international, nondenominational, Bible-centered youth organization providing weekly clubs and programs for three-year-olds through high schoolers. The acrostic, AWANA, comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15, our club verse). There are Awana Clubs in all 50 states and over 90 countries from Argentina to Zimbabwe. The purpose of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him.

The Awana Clubs at Community Evangelical Free Church were chartered in December 1997, and we had our first meeting February 1, 1998. We currently have clubs for boys and girls three years old through sixth grade: Cubbies (three and four-year-old preschoolers or two years pre-kindergarten; children must have reached their third birthday by October 1); Sparks (kindergarten through second grade); and Truth and Training (third through sixth grade), and meet Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 7:15, September through April.

Awana. Because kids matter to God.
